SPRING TREND: How to Style Leopard Print Without Going Overboard
Leopard print: one of spring 2019’s fiercest trends. 😉 It’s made a comeback and I’m not mad about it! Lets be real. It goes with just about everything! You can take the plainest outfit and turn it into a sassy ensemble with a splash of leopard. BUT the key to doing it right is to do it tastefully.
Obviously my opinion isn’t the only one that matters, but if you’re reading this, it must matter a little! This is just my take on leopard print etiquette. You do what makes you happy and feel the most gorgeous!
I feel like leopard should either be the main focus or a statement accessory – but not both. In other words, if you wear a leopard print dress, don’t wear leopard print shoes and a leopard print purse, too. That’s too much! I’ve divided my “areas” up into three sections, and I suggest you pick one for each outfit you put together! While I’ve tried to tag each item I’m wearing in these outfits, I’ve also scoured the interwebs for some of the most adorable leopard print items available! All are under $100, and most of them I tried to keep under $30.
This could be a dress, a top, pants, a skirt, a cardigan… you get the idea. An item of clothing that will stand out! I’d recommend pairing these with simple clothes and accessories, though you might feel sassy enough to add a pop of color with your jewelry or shoes (my “color pop” of choice is almost always red 😉 )!
Top // Cardigan // Black Jeans // Heels // Earrings // Purse – got on clearance at Walmart for $8!! But here’s one similar
I’m lumping jewelry, purses, sunglasses, and scarves into this category! Hair scarves are THE THING right now, so if you add a leopard print scarf to your ponytail, you’re quite possibly the trendiest person within miles. Leopard accessories are always wonderful for spicing up a boring/very neutral outfit. If you ever feel that you need a little something “extra,” try reaching for one of these!
Top (similar) // Jeans // Heels // Purse (similar – sorry, this is another Walmart clearance steal!) // Earrings // Belt (not real Gucci but it’s under $20!)
The real question is… How many leopard print shoes is too many? I have them in loafer form, but I need booties, espadrilles, wedges, platforms, pumps, I NEED THEM ALL. Whew. I might be letting my obsession get the best of me. Anyway. Treat the shoes pretty much the same way you would the accessories, but maybe just a little bit edgier. Some statement details on your top or dress, some super distressed denim… Your closet is your canvas! One of my favorite things is just trying a bunch of combinations of things until I find the perfect combination. It’s the best feeling!!
Top // Cardigan (mine’s from Ross but this one’s similar) // Purse // Shoes are sold out, but I found a similar pair // Sunglasses // Jeans
I hope you found all the leopard inspiration you were looking for!
Makes me wanna get more leopard print for my closet!
