The Perfect White Dress for Warmer Weather

Long time, no see, friends!! In case you didn’t notice, I’ve been taking a little break from blogging for the past month or so. I had a lot of family stuff going on (not bad things, just a lot of things!) and trying to keep up with my normal two-post-a-week schedule was becoming so much of a burden that I decided to take a little hiatus and get my head back on straight. After all, I started blogging because I love it and think it’s a blast, so why would I force myself to put out sub-par content that I can’t focus all of my attention on?

With that being said, I’m back and have so many new ideas that I can’t wait to share with you all! First up: THIS DRESS.

White Dress

Backstory: I was in Old Navy the weekend before Easter and saw this dress as soon as I entered the store. I fell in love. I’ve always believed that midi dresses are typically not very flattering on bigger girls, but they’re so stinking trendy right now! Figuring this is just the whole skinny jeans situation all over again (FLARE JEANS FOR LIIIIIFE, BABY), I decided to step out of my size 12 comfort zone and give this one a try. Let me tell you, I’m glad I did.

Another trend right now is button front dresses. I’ve been scouring the internet to find one that won’t show a bunch of cleavage or my entire butt when I bend over slightly. But so far I’m coming up short. What’s a modest curvy girl to do?! WELL. When I tried this dress on, I was nervous about the buttons gapping majorly (I knew cleavage wouldn’t be a problem given the neckline). But guess what! THEY ARE SEWN SHUT. Old Navy calls it ‘no peek’ and it is the biggest blessing to us larger chested ladies!! The rest of the buttons are functional, but the ones from the waistline up won’t be showing anything at all!

So, as I was finishing up in the dressing room, I decided to pop on Old Navy’s website to check the dress’ availability. It was so frustrating to discover that it was sold out in all but one size! I had to share this incredible find with my friends and followers, but how could I when only a small percent of them would be able to get it? I also felt a little bit silly spending the money on a dress that I couldn’t even link, but I loved it so much that I went ahead and bought it anyway. But then the most amazing thing happened! When I checked last night, they had fully restocked it!!

It was the sign I needed to write an entire blog post about it. Hahahaha. Which I’m sorry but also not even a little bit sorry for.

Be sure and tag me on Instagram if you end up getting the dress – I know you’ll love it as much as I do! I want to see how you style it!! And as always, let me know if you have any questions!

Candidly,

Kristianna
