Weekend Camping/Hiking Packing List
I am getting SUPER excited because this time tomorrow, I’ll be in New Mexico!! Or maybe in Texas. I’m not completely sure of the timeline. We leave at 6 a.m. tomorrow for Carlsbad, NM to visit the Carlsbad Caverns! After we’ve had our fill there, we’re headed to Guadalupe Mountains National Park for the rest of the weekend. Hiking, camping, and hopefully some gorgeous fall foliage are all in our plans. π
Since I’m sure I’m not the only one wanting to take a trip like this during the most wonderful season of the year, I thought I would let everyone in on what I’m bringing! I know I can’t be the only one that checks everyone else’s list so that I make sure not to forget anything on mine.
2 4-person tents (there are 4 of us going, so we’ll be two to a tent with plenty of room!)
A sleeping bag
Blanket and pillow
Snacks (fruit, trail mix, Lara bars)
Stuff for sandwiches
Cooler
A case of water
Power pack
Hammock
A good book
Rain jacket
Backpack
Hat
Tennis shoes/hiking boots
Sweatshirt/jacket
Workout pants
Sweatpants for sleeping if it gets too chilly
Flashlight (Walmart has nice LED ones for $1!)
Camping chair
A deck of cards (for lots of games, obviously)
Hand sanitizer
Paper towels
Band-aids
If you know of anything to add to the list, please leave it in the comments below! I love hearing other peoples’ necessities. π Happy Camping!
Candidly,
Kristianna

What type of hiking boots do you have?

I actually donβt own any! I wore tennis shoes for this trip and my feet hurt less than my friends who wore their boots! BUT I would like to invest in some this year. One of my favorite bloggers, Helene Sula (Helene In Between is her blog/Instagram name) has a highlight on her Instagram talking about her favorite hiking boots and I believe she links them there! I definitely trust her opinion!
