What is Blogmas? + My Top 10 Favorite Christmas Movies
IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE! IT’S FINALLY HERE! The time of year where I’m not judged for listening to Michael Buble sing Christmas songs on repeat. I can put up my tree and it’s no longer frowned upon. Everyone is giving and getting and baking and loving and eating and I LOVE EVERYTHING.
Whew.
Okay. I just had to get that out. 🙂 NOW. Today is December 1st, which means it’s also the first day of Blogmas!! For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, Blogmas is an advent calendar of sorts. Basically every day from now until Christmas, I’ll be posting something new on here (which is insane, since I currently only post twice a week)! And they’ll all be holiday/Christmas/wintery themed, because I would write that kind of stuff all year long if I could. I have most of them planned out, but if you have any suggestions for posts you’d like to see this month, leave them in the comments!
Now, onto my favorite Christmas movies!! Obviously these aren’t everyone’s favorites. But they’re mine, and hopefully you’ll find one you haven’t watched before!

White Christmas
It actually took me until I was an adult before I finally watched this classic! Which is so crazy, since I grew up watching old movies with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, etc. and TV shows like Gilligan’s Island or Mister Ed! But WOW I was hooked. My favorite parts are obviously the music and the dancing. And you can find it on Netflix!!
Holiday Inn
Lemme tell ya, this one’s another musical and it’s WILD from start to finish! Once again, if you love classic music and dance, Holiday Inn is for you. It’s not on Netflix, but it’s free with Amazon Prime.
Elf
Definitely my number two choice on the list. I watch it pretty much all year long, but wayyyy more frequently during the month of December. 😉 My mom says it’s the only exception to her personal “no Will Ferrell movies” rule. Haha!
It’s a Wonderful Life
Alas. My number one favorite Christmas movie of all time. It may be old, but wow is it still just as relevant today as it was back then. And hilarious! I always watched it in black and white growing up, but if you have Prime, you can watch it in b&w or color for free!
The Santa Clause
Man, I don’t know what it is about Tim Allen and Christmas movies but the guy gets it. I guess you could say this is kind of a kid’s movie, but who cares? Isn’t that what happens around this time of year anyway? We all just turn into big kids? It’s not free anywhere, but you can rent it for $3 on Amazon!
Christmas with the Kranks
Hehe I told you. Tim Allen. But also I LOVE Jamie Lee Curtis so basically this movie is perfection. It’s very slapsticky/over the top ridiculous though, so if that’s not you’re thing, you might wanna skip this one. But it’s free on Prime. Just sayin.
The Holiday
If you’re a romantic this time of year, this is the one for you! I lovvvvveeeee Jude Law and Jack Black so I am all. a. bout. it. Not romantic movies in general. Just mostly this one. You can rent it on Amazon for $3!
Scrooged
A not-quite-as-current-as-it-was-in-its-time take on A Christmas Carol. Pretty much any version of this classic tale is gonna be somewhat sobering, but this one lightens the mood a little because comedy!
Annabelle’s Wish
CHILDHOOD ALL TIME FAVORITE. I would watch this year round on repeat. Tbh I’ve watched it many times since childhood. And I feel no shame, because it’s wonderful. It’s animated, so if you’ve got little ones, check it out! *super* unfortunately, it’s not available online. BUT you can get it for cheap cheap on DVD here!
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Yet another childhood classic that isn’t online. 🙁 But fortunately you can buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray right here for less than the price of a Starbucks holiday drink!
There you have it! My 10 favorite Christmas movies of all time! If you’re not much of a movie watcher but still wanna have a good time over the holidays, check out this post for a bunch of AMAZING games you and your family/friends will love! Happy holidays!!
Candidly,
Kristianna
